The end of March marked a slowdown in the time I had available to work on my websites, and I feel this had a large impact on the lower traffic levels my websites received late in the month. Hopefully I can manage my time better in April to keep from having these self-inflicted nosedives in website performance.
My Websites’ Traffic
Like last month, I currently have five websites I want to monitor traffic statistics for. These are websites I’ve either monetized or have been completed to a point at which I am trying to build a user base.
The websites: this blog, I EAT N00BS 4 BREAKFAST!!!11, Smart Capper, TrackMyHands.com, and Which Team Wins?.
Note: All stats from Google Analytics
This Blog (The Real Ryan J. Parker)
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 988
- Visits: 1,383
- Pageviews: 2,972
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 2.15
- Analysis: This was the first full month of having this blog up and running, so the numbers are obviously higher than last month. The release of the Show Unread Comments WordPress plugin helped to generate traffic, but near the end of the month I had very little time to dedicate to writing posts. As such, I feel like I’ve taken a few steps forward, but also a few steps back. I plan to do better in April, but realistically things will clear up closer to May.
I EAT N00BS 4 BREAKFAST!!!11
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 7,327
- Visits: 8,519
- Pageviews: 13,022
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 1.53
- Analysis: This blog continued the traffic explosion in March, thanks in large part to a post on a glitch for an Xbox 360 game. Interest started to wane at the end of the month, so coinciding with my lack of available time has created a steady drop in traffic. This must change in April.
Smart Capper
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 2,144
- Visits: 3,573
- Pageviews: 15,451
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 4.32
- Analysis: The dry spell should be ending in April, as the MLB season starts. March is another month between the end of football and the start of baseball, so I expect things to pick up in April.
TrackMyHands.com
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 469
- Visits: 510
- Pageviews: 1,736
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 3.40
- Analysis: I’m hoping I get time to develop this more in the coming months, but it’s a low priority, so I don’t expect these traffic levels to fluctuate much until this moves to a higher priority.
Which Team Wins?
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 244
- Visits: 369
- Pageviews: 1,864
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 5.05
- Analysis: Most of my available time this month went into growing this website. I purchased a link on a high quality website to help with getting targeted users, and I also started a low cast AdWords campaign. When I say low cost I mean I’m bidding in cheap keywords that should provide me with a good AdWords quality score. (Some didn’t, but I’ll be making a post about that soon.) I haven’t been running this campaign for long, so I’m hoping April will provide a good indication of the cost/visitor ratio.
Totals for All Websites
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 11,172
- Visits: 14,354
- Pageviews: 35,045
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 2.44
Summary
March was a promising month, but available time severely impacted the end of month stats. In April I’ll focus on dividing up time appropriately to keep this from taking place in the future.
How did your website(s) do in March?

Now that March is here I’m going to start tracking my websites’ monthly traffic here on my blog.
For now I’ll keep from disclosing actual money made for the simple reason that it’s not all that much, so I’ll make a deal with you: I’ll disclose my monthly earnings once I become a dot com mogul and make $10k/month or I monetize this blog (whichever comes first).
With that said, I’ve got no aspirations of monetizing this blog anytime soon so I probably won’t be disclosing the amount of money I make anytime soon, so if I don’t talk about it then it’s because it’s not worth talking about.
On to the numbers:
My Websites’ Traffic
I currently have five websites I want to monitor traffic statistics for.
Parker)
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 144
- Visits: 286
- Pageviews: 1,015
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 3.55
- Analysis: I started this blog on February 19th, so the numbers are expectedly low. The pageviews are skewed thanks to the tweaks I’ve made since setting up the blog, so I’m interested to see what the March numbers look like.
I EAT N00BS 4 BREAKFAST!!!11
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 3,045
- Visits: 3,561
- Pageviews: 6,156
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 1.73
- Analysis: February was my second full month running this blog and I’m quite pleased with the progress. Most of the traffic this month came from a few unique posts that aren’t covered specifically on any other websites, so Google was happy to send the searchers my way.
Smart Capper
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 2,076
- Visits: 3,605
- Pageviews: 18,084
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 5.02
- Analysis: As a sports betting related website, Smart Capper had an expectedly down month in February. Although most traffic decreases during the period between the Super Bowl and the start of Major League Baseball in April, this website has good retention, as 47.60% of the visitors were returning visitors. I don’t expect traffic to waver all that much until April.
TrackMyHands.com
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 374
- Visits: 419
- Pageviews: 1,332
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 3.18
- Analysis: TrackMyHands.com is a website I need to devote more time to, but with the recent legislation making it hard for people to play poker online I’ve pushed this website to a very low priority, and the numbers show as such. There are a few odds calculators that a few devout fans use, and I plan on adding to them at some point in the future. When is anyone’s guess.
Which Team Wins?
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 163
- Visits: 303
- Pageviews: 1,858
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 6.13
- Analysis: This is the website you could say I’m actively working on. This month’s stats are skewed for two reasons: I ran a SitePoint Logo contest that I linked back to my site for the contestants to see what I’ve already got, and I’ve been developing dynamic content that skews the numbers.
This month I’ve integrated a lot of content into the website, and now I’m looking to start showing up in SERPs. I don’t expect any high rankings just yet, as I’ve just finished integrating some major portions of content. In March I’m going to be implementing more content and tools, so I expect to start attracting more visitors.
Totals for All Websites
- Absolute Unique Visitors: 5,802
- Visits: 8,174
- Pageviews: 28,445
- Average Pageviews per Visit: 3.48
Summary
This is the first time I’ve tried to do a broad analysis of my websites, so if you see something wrong or a stat I should be tracking please let me know.
I hope you enjoyed the stats above, and hopefully you can compare them to your own website(s). I’m interested in hearing what type of traffic everyone else gets to their websites.
