I Love Google Reader
For what seems like forever now, I’ve used the iGoogle home page to keep updated with the latest from the RSS feeds I subscribe to. Over time I’ve had a tough time keeping up with all of the subscriptions, but I never really felt moved to try anything else.
That changed, however, when my iGoogle feeds stopped updating properly.
Today I finally imported the RSS feeds into Google Reader, and I’m in love. The interface is great. I can quickly navigate to the content I’m looking for.
If you’re stuck in the stone age like I was with the iGoogle Homepage, it’s time to give Google Reader a shot!

I will give it a try ! I consider myself as a big RSS consumer as well. For the moment I mainly rely on Firefox and Netvibes to aggregate RSS feeds. But in both cases I am limited by the number of the feeds added (Netvibes: it needs to fit in one page / Firefox: the RSS feeds added creates a never ending list (too LARGE). Let’s see if Google can respond to my needs.

As far as technology considered it is developing tremendously in regards to google the change is very more. The home page is updated from the latest feeds from the RSS feeds. This is very useful to the Google readers.

I also use igoogle for keeping track of RSS feeds, though as you mentioned, they sometimes have problems loading fully. I will have to try out Google reader and see if I like that better. Thanks for the recommendation.

I roll through a lot of my blogs via Google Reader at work. Most of what I look at is related to my work, some of it isn’t. If my network guys took an interest in me, what would they see? A lot of time in Google Reader, or every blog that Google Reader is set to tap? If they can see everything, is there a way to prevent that? Short of setting up a proxy server (though not ruled out as an option)

When I’m offline I love to be able to read all blog posts for a given blog. Google Reader now offers the ability to read offline. However I haven’t been able to figure out a way to download all the posts in a certain blog easily.

However I haven’t been able to figure out a way to download all the posts in a certain blog easily. For instance, let’s say I want to download all the posts from Steve Pavlina’s blog before an upcoming trip. How would I do this? I can manually use the “infinite scrolling” feature to get them all but it takes a long time and is tedious.

I don’t know how I used to keep up before RSS and my google reader. Now I get my updates on my reader and on my blackberry. I would never be able to keep up with all of the bloggers that I track in both the financial industry and the SEO world without RSS. Subscribe via email just wouldn’t cut it for me.

That really depends on how they have their network setup, and what kind of tracking they have installed on the computers. If they were closely monitoring every computer they could see everything, even directly connect to your computer and control it…
